Benefits of feedback in e-learning

No good e-training course is complete without exercises, and exercises cannot go without feedback. What do you need to know to make feedback truly useful?

💡 Specific but clear.
"Right" / "Wrong" is not enough for quality feedback - the learner won't know where and why they went wrong. Try explaining the correct answer briefly but clearly.

💡 If possible, provide feedback following every choice in the exercise.
Explain why the chosen answer is correct or incorrect. It's particularly effective in simulations, where feedback is often expressed both in words and changes in the character's facial expressions.

💡 Feedback in various forms.
Have you ever wondered why we learn new things so quickly in games? Because we get feedback after every choice we make, and it's always... different! We use the same principle in gamified training. Depending on the chosen step, the users receive differently presented feedback - they hear a witty phrase or a sound, earn or lose points, win medals, move on to the next level, and so on.

💡 Make the most of feedback.
It can go beyond the scope of the task, for example, by adding an interesting related fact, discussing an exception, or highlighting something important to remember.

Good luck with the development of e-learning tasks and tests. Don't forget to make the most of feedback - it's more powerful than you think!
